After the performance of a unit of Gassanid Bedouin Cavalry I was experimenting with in last nights game, I've decided to drop 7 Huns and add a further 2 to the existing unit. Hope I ain't counting my chickens as I have three banners to paint up on top of 34 mini's, though I reckon the banners will be my last minute Friday night project. For obvious reasons I've decided to leave all the details of how I have gone about putting the army together until after the WH weekend.

Matthew 24:50The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, Matthew 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.1 Thessalonians 5:2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.If there were no passages in the NT about signs that would precede Christ’s return, we would probably conclude from these that Jesus could come at any moment.2 Peter 3:8-9 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. Matthew 24:29-30Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. The Coming of the AntiChrist2 Thessalonians 2:3-5 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; The Great Apostasy2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, 2 Timothy 3:1,2 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. This is the pre trib rapture view, which says that Christ first comes to rapture the church, and then a time period goes by where other things occur and then Christ comes again in judgment.

Donovan said after Florida defeated Ohio State 84-75 on April 2 to win the NCAA title. In other words, the game had become so unbalanced that Donovan devoted most of his defensive attention to the Ohio State perimeter shooters behind the 3-point arc. With players making 35 percent of their 3-point attempts, the 19-foot, 9-inch arc was skewing the game too far toward the perimeter and away from the post.If the playing rules oversight panel approves the recommended new arc at 20 feet, 9 inches, the post game should become more of a factor again in 2008-09.Center Tyler Hansbrough and North Carolina would have benefited if the rule were imposed immediately.

Infant Feeding Devices: Feeding Bottle - ca. 1930
When all of India is getting excited about the Golden Jubilee of our existence as a nation, West Bengal - in a naturally parochial manner - has pointed out that it is 60 years of our existence as a state as well. For this occasion, Anandabazar Patrika had taken out a special supplement (on Bengali New Year's Day) on the 60 defining events since Independence that have - in some way or other, for better or for worse - shaped the Bengali psyche of today. Some of them have a national resonance and some would appeal only to a Bengali, but like all such lists, they generate enough fodder for long debates.I am not sure if the text is protected by any copyright or such thing but am listing it anyway, with my observations. Its list of luminary contributors - Sunil Gangopadhyay, Shakti Chattopadhyay, Tarapada Ray - was probably its least important aspect. Performance of Raktakarabi by Bohurupee (May 1954)Shambhu Mitra's theatre group performed Tagore's dance drama Raktakarabi - and the new theatre movement of Bengal was born. Senate Hall of Calcutta University demolished (1960)Senate Hall - a long cherished monument of historic and nostalgic significance - was demolished and Calcutta mourned the passing of an era.12. Tagore Birth Centenary (1961)The greatest icon of Bengal - thanks to a cultural blitz by the state government - literally became a household name on his birth centenary. One of future landmarks of Calcutta - Rabindra Sadan - was inaugurated, innumerable cultural programmes organised, films & plays on his works made and economical editions of his works published.15. Joint Entrance Examination starts (1962)Two premier engineering colleges of Bengal - BE College and Jadavapur University - started to hold a common entrance test for their entrance and for generations of students, the Holy Grail had been identified. Ganesh Pyne acknowledged as India's most talented artist (1969)MF Hussain called Ganesh Pyne - hitherto unknown - the most talented artist in the country and the art world started to look East. Bidhan Nagar established (1972)Bidhan Nagar - later to expand into Salt Lake City - was the first suburb of Calcutta, providing planned urban development and the first radial movement of the city. The law & order machinery remained a mute spectator, under then Home Minister - one Mr Jyoti Basu. Formation of Bangladesh (1971)The Mukti Bahini - assisted by the Indian Army - won its independence from Pakistan. After all, we still remember Chhanda Sen - three decades after she started reading the news on TV.29. Calcutta Book Fair starts (January 1976)The Calcutta Book Fair started off with a handful of publishers in the Maidan. Majid Baskar appears in the Calcutta Football League (1978)Majid Baskar - an Iranian - was the first foreigner to play in Calcutta and created a cult. Subaltern - as a word - has crept into our vocabulary as historians as well as sociologists delve into this further.34. As they said, West Bengal Congress had one he-man - and it's her!36. First Bengali Soap Opera - 13 Parbon (May 1986)Tero Parbon ran for only 39 episodes - in two lots. Auto rickshaws start plying on Calcutta roads (August 1986)Unlike the other metros, Calcutta took a long while to adopt the three-legged vehicle. Prasenjit's rise as Superstar (1987)Prasenjit - son of Biswajit - became the unlikely superstar of Bengali cinema as he romanced, did 'action', did comedy and even produced movies to become the closest replace of an 'one-man industry'. Vidyasagar Setu opens (October 1992)The second Hooghly Bridge opened after an extended gestation period - and Calcutta woke up to a new vision of modernity. There was, of course, modern non-film music from the stalwarts but it was Suman's first album - Tomake Chaii - which brought the urban milieu, the modern angst and the political stand into the lyrics of the Bengali song. Of course, the event eased the proof of the Bengali theory - if a global honour has to come to India, it has to come to a Bengali.49. Bengalis took to this with a gusto as bands like Parash Pathar, Chandrabindu and Cactus added a new dimension to the rich musical heritage of Bengal - you could dance to their music!54. Even the government cannot mess with people - politically motivated or otherwise - who don't want to toe their line.A very exhaustive and reasonably representative list...

[edit] Characters
In Blinx 2 the player controls either a Time Sweeper (an anthropomorphic cat) or a Tom Tom (a pig) on their mission to prevent the end of the world by finding the 8 fragments of the all-powerful Big Crystal.
The Time Sweepers monitor time so they can sweep up rubbish on the ground to fire as ammo. Their enemies are Time Monsters and the Tom Tom Gang. They also must face the segments of the Big Crystal, when they mutate into bosses.
In Blinx 2, there are various missions the player must complete in order to find the Big Crystal. As many of the Time Monsters respawn when needed, the 'Time Sweep' mission of the original Blinx no longer applies.
The Tom Toms are a rowdy bunch, who use guns, turrets, tanks and other traps (for example, a decoy which morphs into a Tom Tom to lure Time Sweepers away). Their enemies are the Time Sweepers, their K9-1000 dogs, and a few bosses.
Players can completely customize the looks of their two characters, with an extremely deep customization system. During the game's production, many viewed this as a revolutionary new standard in character creation, however the game's limited advertising following its release caused it to go widely unnoticed.
[edit] Time Controls
Once again, the Time Sweeper places six different Time Controls at the player's disposal. Five of these are based on controls commonly found on VCRs. The Time Control and Time Sweepers available in Blinx 2 are slightly different from the Time Controls and Time Sweepers available to Blinx in Blinx 1.
The Time Crystals themselves work and appear differently also. In Blinx 2, the Time Crystals are shaped as their symbols in the Time Sweeper on-screen interface. Also, the player can collect the Time Crystals in any order to gain Time Controls. The player has a separate stock of Time Crystals for each Time Control, and when they hold three of any Crystal, it is converted into a Time Control. The 'collect 4 in a row to gain 2 Time Controls at once' rule is not present in Blinx 2.
REW - Two purple chevrons pointing to the left. Time Crystal - Purple chevrons pointing down. This causes time to run backwards for everything in the world except Blinx himself. Bridges and other elements previously destroyed can be restored with this Time Control no matter how long ago they were destroyed. Many of the scripted necessary uses of REW in Blinx 2 are accompanied by a cutscene and mid-level checkpoint.
FF - Two orange chevrons pointing to the right. Time Crystal - Orange chevrons pointing up. This Time Control is wildly different from its Blinx 1 counterpart. Blinx 2's FF causes time to slightly speed up for the world and its inhabitants but imbues the player's cat with Time Energy, allowing them to run faster, jump higher, and fall slower. The player is no longer invulnerable during FF, and, as with all Blinx 2 Time Controls, any contact with an enemy during FF will cause the Time Control to be cancelled and the player to take damage.
PAUSE - Two light blue rectangles. Time Crystal - Blue PAUSE symbol. This causes time to stop for everything in the world except the player. Scenery elements are frozen during PAUSE, and can be jumped on to reach hidden areas.
REC - Green circle. Time Crystal - Green REC symbol. The first phase of REC is 10 seconds of 'recording' time, where the player is invulnerable to all damage, and can move as normal. When 10 seconds has elapsed (or the player has been lost to an unrecoverable environmental hazard), the world and the player will be rewound backwards for 10 seconds, and the same period of time will be played. During this 'playback', the actions taken by the player during the 'recording' will be shown as a green ghost, allowing for enhanced combat tactics to be used, or puzzles that would require two players to be solved. Many of the puzzles presented during two player cooperative play can be solved by a single player using REC wisely. This time control is not available during a Time Sweeper / Tom Tom multi character battle.
SLOW - Yellow triangle pointing to the right. Time Crystal - Yellow triangle. This causes time to run slowly for everything in the world except the player. Scenery elements are slowed during SLOW, and can be jumped on to reach hidden areas.
The sixth Time Control, RETRY, is triggered manually in Blinx 2, but it can only be triggered when the player is knocked out by an enemy or lost to an infinite chasm.
RETRY - Red heart. Time crystal - Red heart. RETRY causes everything in the world, including the player, to rewind to a point where the player should be safe. This time control is not available during a Time Sweeper / Tom Tom multi character battle.
In Blinx 2, each Time Sweeper has its own Time Control capacity, and each Time Control is stored separately. The starting Sweepers can only store two PAUSE, two REW and two RETRY. Upgraded Sweepers can hold up to five of each Time Control.
There is an upgrade available for each Time Sweeper which allows two Time Controls (except RETRY) to be mixed into a hybrid Time Control, which can exhibit powers possessed by both its parent Controls. For example, the player can mix REC and SLOW into a hybrid Time Control SLOW + REC, which is the same as a REC, except its 'recording' and 'playback' are both doubled (20 seconds instead of 10), and the world is afflicted by the power of SLOW. All pairings of REW, FF, PAUSE, REC and SLOW are possible (except pairing a Time Control with itself), but some combinations are more useful than others.
At certain points in the game, the player is confronted by large concealed weapons. When these are triggered, the game freezes for few seconds asking the player to choose one of two REACTIVE Time Controls. REACTIVE Time Controls are free Time Controls (triggered by the player's Operator back at the Time Factory) that allow the player to dodge or eliminate the impending threat. If the player fails to choose a REACTIVE Time Control, then the game is resumed, and the player is free to use one of the regular Time Controls as normal, or to simply dodge out of the way of the threat.
PAUSE REACTIVE - This is the same as a regular PAUSE, but it lasts for slightly longer. If the player wanders out of range of the threat during PAUSE REACTIVE, and then back into the threat if the weapon fires for a second time, then the player is offered a second REACTIVE, but only the PAUSE REACTIVE is available.
SLOW REACTIVE - This REACTIVE slows down the threat, roots the player to the spot, and challenges the player to dodge the incoming threat by moving the analog thumbstick to match on-screen commands. If the player does not react in time or pulls the wrong direction then the threat will instantly kill the player.

[edit] The Big Crystal
They then run into a rock blocking the passage way, and puts a bomb on it, then explodes. They then find the crystal but, unfortunately, foolish Benito (leader of the Tom Toms) jumps on the crystal, and it breaks. They then run out and escape.
Then it cuts to a scene in the sky where the Time Goddesses talk about how valuable time is and that so few understand its true value. Then, back in the Time Factory, an alert goes off that time energy is decreasing in all universes. The CEO is astonished when he realises that the Big Crystal broke and at that moment green Tom Toms come in ships into the Time Factory. This crash into the building chips off a large clock off the building threatening to kill many Time Sweepers. Blinx suddenly pauses time and shouts Hurry, Move it! getting all Time Sweepers to safety. The Tom Toms get ID'ed as the Tom Tom Gang and a fight emerges, and when one Tom Tom fires a gun which shoots a bomb, Blinx slows time, and they all run to safety. Blinx then gets scratched by a rock. (This helps the user identify that it is Blinx.) When Blinx later shoots at a Tom Tom and they survive and heal, the Time Factory notices that they are invincible. But they don't know what the cause of invincibility is.
Things get worse when the whole Time Factory loses all power. A weird shadowed face appears on their screen and weird symbols appear below. The CEO suddenly realises it is the Ancient language of the Time Goddesses and gets the Time Sweepers to open the portal to the Ruins of time (with coordinates zero). He orders Blinx to go to the portal and save the day, but he refuses as he is still currently fighting the invincible Tom Toms. His fellow Time Sweeper tells Blinx he can't win. Blinx hurries off to the portal but a lot of his fellow Time Sweepers follow him in. In total 252 cats jump in the portal (250 named Time Sweepers, Blinx and the player).
[edit] The game begins
After the first cutscene, the player begins as a Time Sweeper. After some training from Jimmy the shopkeeper on how to play, the real game begins. In Time Sweeper's mission 1 the player first has to blow down/open a door, collect batteries to operate a helicopter, and kill the stone monster by shooting at its chest while its on the ground.
The game then goes to another cutscene, showing the Time Goddesses saying to their daughter, Mina what are you going to do, now? They cut the string of time. Were afraid your wish cannot be granted." The game flashes back to the Time Factory Invasion, this time from Benitos point of view. Then it goes back to the face in the picture the CEO of the Time Factory saw, of Mina. Benito instantly falls in love with her. Mina asks Benito to find all the big crystal fragments before theyâshe does not say why, because by then the other Tom Toms wake up Benito. He shouts, That dream was just getting good. They say that he is in the news as the Tom Tom Gang are invading the Time Factory, but the Tom Tom Gang arent invading. Theyre on their island, relaxing. Benito laughs and goes off to get the big crystal fragments.

Brett hit .333 (fourth all-time among Royals, first at the time), with an .839 OPS (fourth in the AL), 94 RS, 215 hits (second all-time among Royals, first at the time, only eclipsed by Willie Wilson in '80), 34 doubles, 14 triples (sixth all-time among Royals, first at the time), 7 HR, 67 RBI and 21 SB along with rangy but not great defense. McRae, meanwhile, played 31 games of sub-par D in left but made up for it by hitting .332 (sixth all-time among Royals, second to Brett then), with an .868 OPS (.407 OBP is ninth all time among Royals, OPS of 154 is seventh all-time among Royals and was third then behind two Mayberry seasons), 75 RS, 34 doubles, 5 triples, 8 HR, 73 RBI and 22 SB. Fitzmorris helped lead the way with a 3.06 ERA, 15-11 record, 8 complete games, 2 shutouts and only 6 HR allowed in 35 games (33 starts) and 220 IP; The two bad seeds in the bullpen were Tom Hall with a 1-1 record, 1 save and 4.45 ERA in 31 games and 30 IP and Tom Bruno with a 6.75 ERA and 1-0 record in 12 games and 17 IP.The Royals would ride Whiteyball to a firm hold on the division lead starting in late May and the team's performance would culminate in a double digit lead in late August before rough waters in September and October almost cost KC the division title. The loss of 7 of 8 shortly thereafter, including 2 to the Rangers, cut the lead to 2 games but KC finished June at 44-27 -- 3 1/2 games up on the Rangers and 9 1/2 up on Oakland. The Royals ended August in the midst of a 5-game slide that cut the lead to 6 games over the A's and a 5-13 stretch to start September cut the lead down to 3 1/2 games. A 5-game winning streak late in the month stretched the lead back to 7 but the Royals lost 2 of 3 at home versus Oakland, dropped 2 of 3 at Texas to cut the lead to 4 1/2 games and then dropped another 2 of 3 at Oakland. The one win, in the series finale -- a 4-0 complete game shutout by Larry Gura -- was a big one, however, as it gave the Royals a 3 1/2 game lead with only 3 games left and clinched the division title. The Royals were lucky as they got swept in the final series with Minnesota, but Oakland could only take 1 of 3 from California so wouldn't have factored into the final day anyway. The first Royals division title in the AL West pushed KC into an AL Championship Series versus the New York Yankees, who rode a killer lineup and great bullpen to a 97-62 record and 10 1/2 game win in the AL East over Baltimore. Game 1 in Royals Stadium was closely fought but Catfish Hunter held the Royals to only 1 run on 5 hits in a complete game 4-1 win. KC bounced back in game 2 to win, 7-3, behind 5 2/3 IP of solid relief from Splittorff in place of SP Dennis Leonard, who gave up 3 ER on 6 hits and 2 BB over 2 1/3 IP. The Royals pasted Hunter for 5 ER on 5 hits and a walk over 3 IP and, while Gura only lasted 2 IP and gave up 2 ER on 6 hits, Doug Bird provided 4 2/3 IP of good relief and Mingori finished the game for the save. After beating Hunter in game 4, the Yankees sent Figueroa to the mound in game 5 despite getting his beating in game 2, and the Royals again went to work. Herzog and the Royals would put '76 behind them to the winningest season in Royals history in '77 but the same postseason demons that hurt KC in '76 would revisit with another memorable game 5 in 1977, this time in Royals Stadium, however, versus the Yankees.

They say democracy represents the will of the people and yet, there are some politicians who manage to hold on to power despite huge protests against them. I'm thinking of Olmert in Israel, a man whose poll figures have been in single figures since his botched attempt to wipe out Hizbullah and rescue two kidnapped Israeli soldiers. He achieved neither and succeeded only in revealing the weakness of Israel's position when employing a traditional army against a guerilla force.Yesterday, the protesters took to the streets of Tel Aviv in an attempt to tell Olmert that his time was up and that, if he had any sense of decency, he would simply hang up his hat. All indications are that the Olmert camp feel that they have ridden out this particular storm.Among those gathered in Tel Aviv last night were reservist soldiers who fought in the war, relatives of some of those who died, and an array of critics of the government from the left and right wing. Ofer Winestok, 25, a student who voted for the Labour party in the last election and served in the infantry in the Lebanon war, said: There was no leadership in this war. I saw how it was and they just reacted to what happened. The orders changed every few minuteslink

DANGER DEMOCRAT: DON'T WATCH THIS IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY VIOLENCE TO THE HUMAN BODY
HOURS after being sentenced to death by a sharia court in Somalia last May, Omar Hussein was publicly executed. He was hooded, tied to a stake and stabbed to death by the 16-year-old son of the man he had admitted stabbing to death three months earlier. In Kuwait, a Sri Lankan was executed last year by hanging, or so the authorities thought. After the body was taken to the morgue, medical staff saw he was still moving. He was finally pronounced dead only five hours after the execution had begun. In Iran, a man and a woman were stoned to death for extra-marital sex. The horrors of cruelly administered, or botched, execution are not confined to developing countries or to lands that follow the letter of hudud, traditional Islamic punishment. In Florida last December, Angel Diaz was executed by lethal injection. The three-drug cocktail that is used by 37 American states is supposed first to induce unconsciousness, then to paralyse muscles and block breathing, and finally to stop the heart. But after the first injection, Diaz continued to move, squint and grimace as he tried to mouth words. A second dose was administered

Exod 14-15).It is important to keep this Exodus / Passover imagery in mind when looking at Revelation 19. In fact, the cosmic judgment imagery of the Exodus are frequently found in prophetic texts describing God’s eschatological judgment on captive Israel’s oppressors (e.g., Isa 14:1-2; Rev 9:3-11, etc.).If one looks carefully at the allusions made within chapter 19, it seems clear that restoration imagery stands in the backdrop. 19:15).In fact, as I’ve discussed in previous posts, the restoration of Israel was often linked with imagery of an eschatological banquet not entirely dissimilar from the supper described in Revelation 19. In fact, many scholars have recognized that the imagery here is likely alluding to eschatological banquet imagery.[4] This banquet is of course most explicitly described in Isaiah 25:6-8:“On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wine on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wine on the lees well refined. Other references to the hope in the eschatological banquet are found in Isaiah 30:29, Ezekiel 39:17-20, 1Q28a 2 and 1 Enoch 62:14.In connection with this, the restoration is frequently connected with the image of the Lord feeding his people (Isa 40:11; Presumably this means that there will be an abundance of grain (“plowmen”) and wine (“vinedressers”).What is fascinating is that in addition to promises concerning bountiful food and drink both Isaiah 61 and 62 also link nuptial imagery to the eschatological restoration of God’s people.Isaiah 61:10: I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall exult in my God; For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you. This would seem to confirm the view that the Isaianic restoration stands in the backdrop of Revelation 19.Aside from the Old Testament references, however, one might also refer to one other important passage in Revelation, which also links Christ’s coming with a meal:Revelation 3:20: Behold, I stand at the door and knock; 21:7-8[7]Yet, the convergence of the image of the eschatological banquet of Israel's restoration, nuptial imagery and the Eucharistic celebration probably finds its origin prior to the Apocalypse. Continue to Part 2NOTES[1] The imagery of the sealing of the 144,000 is clearly taken from Ezekiel 9, which itself evokes the imagery of the Passover.

Albert Smith (June 22, 1805 - August 27, 1870) was a U.S. Representative from New York.
The minibus was facing south, and we joined the traffic at six pm, I expected Hafez saheb to turn the minibus round at some point, Osama was directing him. The rude boys starting looking around, asking me if I was sure, I told them that I had lived near here for a year. I gave it a few minutes and then spoke, âErr, Hafez saheb, weâre going the wrong way, you need to turn round.â Again no response, both the Hafez and Osama continued looking forward. The rude boys began to look at each other. The rude boys looks had turned into quiet murmurs. Admittedly, I had started to see the humourous side of this escapade a while earlier, what could I do, I was stuck between Osama and the rude boys. We saw an empty coach, from Brighton I think, heading towards the park to pick up its allocated proportion of demonstrators. As we walked back to the minibus I saw someone I thought I recognized, it was Dave, a fellow postgraduate in Leeds sociology. âHow are you getting home?â âI dunno, I think I missed my coachâ. âI think itâs probably gone, you know. He thought about it for a short while and then nodded, we walked back towards the minibus, âHow come you guys havenât set off yet?â I kept quiet. Osama spoke, âI donât see any signs for the M1?â The rude boys responded vociferously and offensively. Osama couldnât resist another comment, but the rude boys were not having any of it. A hundred words came out so quickly that we could barely understand them, but I think he was criticizing Osamaâs knowledge of London. They helped me think through liberalism and I think if one takes their critique seriously there can only be suicide or religion, i.e. Okay, on the importance of the meaning question, page 4, Camus: âI see others paradoxically getting killed for the ideas or illusions that give them reason for living (what is called a reason for living is also an excellent reason for dying).

Sir William Arthur White, GCB, GCMG (13 February 1824 â 28 December 1891) was a British diplomat, born in PuÅawy, in Poland. His mother's family, though not of Polish extraction, owned considerable estates in Poland, where White, though educated at King William's College, Isle of Man, and Trinity College, Cambridge University, spent a great part of his early days, and thus gained an intimate knowledge of the Polish language. To the furtherance of this policy he brought an unrivalled knowledge of all the under-currents of Oriental intrigue, which his mastery of languages enabled him to derive not only from the newspapers, of which he was an assiduous reader, but from the obscurest sources.

The Avalon Ballroom is a legendary music venue in the Polk Gulch neighborhood of San Francisco that operated briefly from 1966 until 1968, and again from 2003 to the present.
In its 1960s heyday, two bands typically performed during the evening beginning about 9:00 p.m. Many local bands, such as Quicksilver Messenger Service and the Steve Miller Band, served as backup bands, as did the early Moby Grape and headliners such as the 13th Floor Elevators, the Butterfield Blues Band, and Big Brother and the Holding Company, which Helms organized around singer and performer Janis Joplin in spring 1966. In 2003, after learning from Stanley Mouse that the building was available, neo-hippie Steve Shirley (aka Morning Spring Rain) of the Hog Farm commune restored and re-opened the Avalon Ballroom as part of a larger Regency Center music hall and special events space.[3]

Set in and around a fictionalized version of New York City's American Museum of Natural History, a few select characters must solve a string of brutal murders that take place inside the museum during the days preceding the opening of Superstition, a spectacular blockbuster exhibition.
It also appears that several museum leaders had known about previous murders on the museum's premises, and that they had conspired to keep these murders a secret so as not to damage the reputation of the museum (shades of Jaws).

I'm just fine with it because I can feel the effort and time that went into it and I truly appreciate and love what you have done for me =)So Alice and I met in the morning at York U at about 10:20am and then bussed to the Science Centre having loads of fun along the way. When we get to the Science Centre, Alice uses this York U discount haha but then we find it doesn't cover the superheroes exhibit so we go and pay full price anyway. Alice, however lands from a jump 3.2 times her weight while I, not trying, mind you, lands an exploding 7.1 times my weight hahahaha....After that we bussed back to her place and got lotsa sleep along the way haha.

Earthbound is a live album by the band King Crimson, released in 1972 as a budget record shortly after the line-up which recorded it had broken up. It has been praised for its funky grooves (unusual for the band), and a blistering performance of 21st Century Schizoid Man, but widely criticized for its very poor sound quality, due to it being recorded onto cassette by live sound engineer Hunter MacDonald.
This is the first King Crimson album that properly displays the name of the band and the title on the front cover.
The CD reissue does not significantly improve the overall sound quality of the album, due to its cassette origins.

[edit] Early life
Comaneci was born in OneÅti, Romania, as the daughter of Gheorghe and Åtefania-Alexandrina.[3][4] Her pregnant mother was watching a Russian film in which the heroine of the story's name was Nadya, the shortened version of the Russian name Nadyezhda (which means, literally, Hope). She decided that her daughter would be named Nadia, too. Comaneci also has a younger brother named Adrian.[5]
[edit] Early gymnastics career
Comaneci began gymnastics in kindergarten with a local team called Flame, with coaches Duncan and Munteanu.[6][7] At age 6 she was chosen to attend Béla Károlyi's experimental gymnastics school after he spotted her and a friend turning cartwheels in a schoolyard.[8][9]
Comaneci was training with the Károlyis by the time she was 7 years old, in 1969. She was one of the first students at the gymnastics school established in Onesti by Béla and his wife, Marta, who would later defect to the United States and become coaches of many prominent American gymnasts. Unlike many of the other students at the Károlyi school, Comaneci was able to commute from home for many years because she lived in the area.[10]
Comaneci placed 13th in her first Romanian National Championships in 1969. A year later, in 1970, she began competing as a member of her hometown team and became the youngest gymnast ever to win the Romanian Nationals.[3] In 1971, she participated in her first international competition, a dual junior meet between Romania and Yugoslavia, winning her first all-around title and contributing to the team gold. For the next few years, she competed as a junior in numerous national contests in Romania and additional dual meets with nearby countries such as Hungary, Italy and Poland.[11] At the age of 11, in 1973, she won the all-around gold, as well as the vault and uneven bars titles, at the Junior Friendship Tournament (Druzhba), an important meet for junior gymnasts.[12][13]
Comaneci's first major international success came at the age of 13, when she nearly swept the 1975 European Championships in Skien, Norway, winning the all-around and gold medals on every event but the floor exercise, in which she placed second. She continued to enjoy success in other meets in 1975, winning the all-around at the Champions All competition and placing first in the all-around, vault, beam, and bars at the Romanian National Championships. In the Pre-Olympic test event in Montreal, Comaneci won the all-around and the balance beam golds, as well as silvers in the vault, floor, and bars behind accomplished Soviet gymnast Nellie Kim, who would prove to be one of her greatest rivals over the next five years.[14]
In March 1976, Comaneci competed in the inaugural edition of the American Cup at Madison Square Garden in New York. She received unprecedented scores of 10.0, which signified a perfect routine without any deductions, on vault in both the preliminary and final rounds of competition and won the all-around.[15] Comaneci also received 10s in other meets in 1976, including the prestigious Chunichi Cup competition in Japan, where she posted perfect marks on the vault and uneven bars.[16]
The international community took note of Comaneci: she was named the United Press International's Female Athlete of the Year for 1975.[17]
[edit] Montreal Olympics
At the age of 14, Comaneci became one of the stars of the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. During the team portion of the competition, her routine on the uneven bars was scored at a 10.0. It was the first time in modern Olympic gymnastics history that the score had ever been awarded. The scoreboards were not even equipped to display scores of 10.0âso Nadia's perfect marks were reported on the boards as 1.00 instead.[18] Over the course of the Olympics, Comaneci would earn six additional 10s, en route to capturing the all-around, beam and bars titles and a bronze medal on the floor exercise. The Romanian team also placed second in the team competition.[19]
Comaneci was the first Romanian gymnast to win the all-around title at the Olympics. She also holds the record as the youngest Olympic gymnastics all-around champion ever; with the revised age-eligibility requirements in the sport (gymnasts must now turn 16 in the calendar year to compete in the Olympics; in 1976 gymnasts had to be 14 by the first day of the competition[20]), this record is currently unable to be broken.
Comaneci's achievements at the Olympics generated a significant amount of media attention. The theme song from the American soap opera The Young and the Restless became associated with her after the television program ABC's Wide World Of Sports used it as background music for montages of her routines. The song became a top ten single in the fall of 1976, and the composer, Barry De Vorzon, renamed it to Nadias Theme" after her.[21] However, Comaneci never actually performed to "Nadias Theme. Her floor exercise music was a medley of the songs Yes Sir, Thats My Baby" and "Jump in the Line" arranged for piano.
She was the 1976 BBC Sports Personality of the Year in the overseas athletes category[22] and the Associated Presss 1976 Female Athlete of the Year.[23] She also retained her title as the UPI Female Athlete of the Year.[24] Back home in Romania, Comanecis success led her to be named a "Hero of Socialist Labor," she was the youngest Romanian to receive such recognition during the reign of Nicolae CeauÅescu.[6]
[edit] 1977â1980
Comaneci successfully defended her European all-around title in 1977, but when questions about the scoring were raised, CeauÅescu ordered the Romanian gymnasts to return home. The team followed orders and controversially walked out of the competition during the event finals.[25][6]
Following the 1977 Europeans, the Romanian Gymnastics Federation removed Comaneci from her longtime coaches, the Károlyis, and sent her to Bucharest to train at the 23 August sports complex. The change was not positive for Comaneci. Grappling with both the stress of her parents divorce and the new training environment, she was extremely unhappy and her gymnastics and overall fitness suffered.[26][6] An overweight and out of shape Comaneci showed up at the 1978 World Championships. A fall from the uneven bars resulted in a 4th place finish in the all-around behind Elena Mukhina, Nellie Kim, and Natalia Shaposhnikova, but Comaneci won the beam title.
Rehearsals with the youth choir ended at about 10 plus yesterday, prior to that, I had choir in school from 8.30am. Tomorrow would be the performance at the esplanade concert hall which features the organ, violin and choir. There are only 6 of us from the school choir and we are in collabaration with the youth choir. It was not the grandeur of the concert hall or the once in a life time feeling that caused it BUT a feeling of being withdrawn. I realise that this signifies my dependency on others but maybe if I had more time to know about the people in the youth choir, I am very sure the situation would be very different. People tend to associate your choir (for e.g.) to be of outstanding quality if you perform at the esplanade.

[edit] Later developments
Bolsheviks have never rejected the idea of self-determination, still the Soviet Constitutions (of 1924, 1936 and 1977) limited the right of secession to the constituent republics only.
